Wedding table flowers
There's a moment at every reception when your guests round the corner into the room for the first time — and the tables are what they see. Before the toasts, before the dancing, it's the flowers on your tables that tell your guests what kind of celebration they're walking into.
We've had the joy of designing tablescapes across so many styles over the years, and we wanted to pull some of our favorites together in one place — as inspiration if you're still dreaming up what your own reception tables could feel like.
First, the Building Blocks: Types of Table Flowers
Before you fall in love with a style, it helps to know your options — most tablescapes are built from a mix of these, not just one.
Bud Vases
Small, single-stem (or few-stem) vases scattered across the table, usually clustered in threes or fives instead of one big arrangement in the middle. They're a favorite for couples who want a table that feels lush without a single dominant centerpiece — and they're wonderfully budget-flexible, since you can scale the number up or down table by table.
Centerpieces
The classic anchor of the table — one focal arrangement, usually in the middle, that sets the tone for everything else on it. Centerpieces can be low and lush (so guests can talk across the table) or tall and dramatic (so the room feels grand). This is usually where a couple's color palette and style really come through.
Garland
A long, loose runner of greenery and blooms laid directly down the length of the table, often mixed with candles or bud vases along its length. Garland reads as abundant and organic almost no matter what flowers fill it — it's the go-to for long farm tables and anyone who wants their reception to feel like a feast.
Style Choices
Wild & Garden-Grown
Loose, organic, a little untamed — these tables look like they were cut straight from a summer garden and set down minutes ago. Garden roses, ranunculus, and airy greenery left with movement instead of tight structure. It's the look for a couple who wants their reception to feel like an extension of the outdoors, warm and unpolished in the best way.
Is this you if: you picture your wedding somewhere with a view — a barn, a ranch, a mountain meadow — and you'd rather your tables feel discovered than designed.
Elegant & Romantic
Soft pastels, layered textures, a sense of quiet luxury. Taller centerpieces mixed with lower, denser groupings so your eye moves across the whole table instead of stopping in one place. Blush, cream, and dusty color palettes with roses, hydrangea, and delicate spray blooms.
Is this you if: you're drawn to timeless over trendy, and you want your reception photos to feel just as beautiful in twenty years as they do the day of.
Modern & Minimal
Not every bride wants abundance — some want restraint. Fewer stems, chosen deliberately, often in a single striking color or a clean sculptural shape. Anthurium, orchids, and simple foliage doing quiet, confident work.
Is this you if: your venue is already stunning on its own, and you want your florals to complement it rather than compete with it.
Cascading & Dramatic
For the bride who wants her reception to feel like walking into a moment — long, low garland-style runners down the center of the table, or a dramatic cascading centerpiece spilling over the edge of the vessel. Built for long tables and big rooms.
Is this you if: you love the idea of your guests gasping a little when they walk in, and you're not afraid of florals as a real design statement.
Boho & Neutral
Earthy, textural, and unfussy — dried elements, pampas, and warm neutral tones paired with just a touch of live floral.
Is this you if: you want a look that feels effortlessly styled, and you love the idea of a keepsake element (dried florals hold up beautifully pressed or displayed long after the wedding).
Every tablescape starts the same way: with a conversation about how you want your reception to feel. Whichever style — and whichever mix of bud vases, centerpieces, or garland — speaks to you, we'd love to help you bring it to life, one bloom at a time.
