Romantic Photoshoot at Hotel Teatro

Design from Denver Wedding Florist, wishflower farms, a green and white theme with a large garland over the large fireplace at hotel teatro

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of creating the floral atmosphere for a styled wedding shoot with photographer Jenny at Hotel Teatro in Denver, Colorado. As a Denver wedding florist, this venue has been on my dream list for quite some time—it speaks so deeply to my reader/writer heart with its rich history and intimate charm.

A Historic Boutique Wedding Venue in Downtown Denver

Hotel Teatro is a stunning historic boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Denver that really blends historic charm with refined modern luxury. Set within a meticulously restored 1911 landmark, the city’s first boutique hotel offers an incredible sense of comfort and character. From the moment I arrived, the staff was an absolute joy to work with, the coffee was exceptional, and the entire experience felt both elevated and welcoming. I was especially delighted to discover their cozy wine cellar tucked away in the basement, along with an impeccable restaurant. If you ever visit, I highly recommend the charcuterie board and a cocktail—it’s the perfect blend of work and play.

The Vision: Timeless Romance with a Modern Edge

This photo shoot was the creative vision of one of my favorite wedding planners, JayLynn of Weddings by Jay, in collaboration with our photographer, Jenny. The design leaned into timeless romance with a subtle nod to Wuthering Heights-inspired styling—or at least, that was my interpretation. Even more special, our models happened to be dear friends of mine, and it was such a joy to see them dressed so beautifully for the occasion.

For the floral design, I wanted to highlight classic white wedding flowers with a modern, textural twist. I incorporated lush hydrangeas, timeless roses, and delicate accents of baby’s breath to create a soft, romantic foundation. To elevate the design, I added movement and interest with hanging amaranthus in both green and white, along with unique textures like scabiosa and euphorbia.

A Statement Fireplace Installation

The fireplace installation was truly the focal point of the space. Rather than a traditional garland, I designed an asymmetrical floral installation that emphasized the height and grandeur of the stone hearth. It created a striking yet organic feel—perfect for couples seeking luxury wedding flowers in Denver with a distinctive, artistic edge.

For the bridal bouquet, we chose a classic cascading design that complemented the romantic aesthetic beautifully. While we didn’t capture many professional photos of it, there’s something special about seeing it in-hand—so I’m sharing one of my own favorite behind-the-scenes moments.

The table design was kept simple and elegant, featuring trailing greenery and soft white blooms woven between vintage candle holders. Set against the backdrop of the wine cellar, it created an intimate and romantic atmosphere—ideal for a micro wedding or small luxury event in Denver.

The Perfect Denver Micro Wedding Venue

If you’re searching for a unique and elevated micro wedding venue in Denver, Colorado, I can’t recommend Hotel Teatro enough. From the thoughtful staff to the beautifully designed spaces, it’s truly a gem for couples planning an unforgettable celebration. As a Denver wedding florist, I would be thrilled to design in this space again.
